CHARACTER DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION

Give it a sec to load, it's worth it.

I absolutely love designing and developing characters and their associated storylines, be it for toys, licensed properties, advertising or animation.  I'm from the old school, where I think that characters should have, what's that thing again, oh yea...CHARACTER.  That is something that has gotten lost in the current "three lines and a dot" characters that are the current trend.  I've designed so many characters over the years (the best of which I can't show here) that I've lost count.  I can usually nail the look of a character in a couple of sketches, though the record number of sketches for one character was over 300 (confidentially, the client eventually picked #2...go figure). The day I run out of characters is the day, I'll probably hang up my pencil sharpener.
