SCULPTURE & MOLDMAKING

If you have ever dealt with sculpting characters for the toy and theme park industry then you know how strict the industry standards are.  It takes a special artisan that can transform a two dimensional drawing into an exact 3D sculpt, while capturing not only the likeness but also the personality of the character.  Add the ability to retain the character integrity while removing all the draft for molding and manufacturing purposes and it's a very specialized skill.  Though I do a little sculpting and molding myself, the sculptors and mold makers that I work with continually amaze me with how proficient and detailed they are.  I have yet to throw a character at them that they could not nail. Whether it's a series of marquettes, action figures, master positives, gigantic themed walls or 20' bull elephant, they come through every time.
